CHRISTMAS
The snow makes a blanket of white on the ground,
Children playing can be heard all around,
The sky is lit up with a billion stars,
Just like the lights of passing by cars,
Even the trees glisten with delight,
Waiting for Santa's arrival that night,
No time to stop there, are presents to wrap,
And not to forget cookies and a little nightcap,
The children are sleeping, gifts are under the tree,
I wonder if Santa will leave one for me!
It is 6:30 am and I open my eyes,
Downstairs I can hear the little ones cries,
I then get dressed and go down to see,
Boxes and paper, right up to my knees,
Alex and Ben were not to be found,
And muffled laughter was the only sound,
I then heard a boo and jumped with surprise,
As two little boys appeared in front of my eyes,
The day was spent eating and playing with toys,
Which now came to an end for two tired boys,
Thanks for our presents the little ones said,
As I bent down to tuck them both into bed,
I bent down to kiss them both on the cheek,
And read them this story until they drifted to sleep.
